Employee-owned companies are a real category with no shared front door. Commonwealth is the directory and the job board: companies are seeded from public ESOP filings with their ownership percentage, and the board fills itself from each employer’s applicant tracking system rather than waiting for postings.
What is interesting about it
- Ingest is an ELT worker, one adapter per ATS. Workday first, because Greenhouse and Lever have near-zero coverage in this market. It only scrapes companies at or above a minimum ownership percentage, because a 5500 filer is not necessarily an employee-owned company.
- A feed that shrinks closes nothing. A broken adapter and an employer with no openings look identical from the outside, so the worker never removes listings on a short feed.
- Manual listings beat scraped ones, and a company can claim its profile and take over its own listings.
- A grants programme where votes accumulate for life, and a separate staff HQ with its own API and SPA.
